Description
Police, municipalities and power companies now have more influence in the battle against marijuana grow-ops. Thursday, Community Safety Minister Monte Kwinter announced the changes to existing laws.
In an attempt to try and stop grow-ops, the new measures will allow local hydro companies to cut off power to homes if it becomes a matter of safety or system reliability. The maximum penalties for fire hazards caused by poor wiring have also been doubled.
