Spokane Police Officer resigns over Gorge drug buy30 Aug 2006 SPOKANE -- A Spokane Police Officer has resigned in lieu of being fired after being accused of buying drugs at a rock concert at The Gorge Amphitheater last weekend.Jonathon Smith, a three-year veteran of the Spokane Police Department, resigned Tuesday afternoon. Smith was at a concert on Sunday headlined by the band Tool when witnesses saw him buy cookies supposedly laced with marijuana. By coincidence two other off-duty Spokane Police Officers – Sgt. Craig Meidl and Cpl. Robbie Dashiell – were also attending the concert. They were also approached by the man selling the cookies and then saw their fellow officer eat them.

Marijuana Plant Found in Idaho Falls Backyard15 Aug 2006 A 6-foot-tall marijuana plant has been confiscated from an Idaho Falls backyard.Kyleen Dereschuk and Victor Elia were allegedly growing a monster of a marijuana plant in plain sight behind their 6th Street house. The plant was a whole foot taller than the fence that surrounds the backyard. Police say you could easily spot it from the alley that runs past the yard. The plant was immediately removed. Police also found packaged marijuana in baggies inside the couple's home. They've been charged with manufacturing marijuana. |
