Authorities make 'huge' drug bust
21 Sep 2006 HAMBDEN TOWNSHIP -- The eastern county drug squad nabbed some giant marijuana plants from a Geauga County resident's back yard.Geauga County Sheriff Dan McClelland shows off the size of the plants.
They are bigger than most Christmas tress you might buy -- nine feet high and four to five feet wide.
Legalizing Marijuana in Nevada Just Became More Complicated
20 Sep 2006 The Clark County Commission is now facing legal action after voting Tuesday to oppose a November ballot question involving the decriminalization of marijuana.The Committee to Regulate and Control Marijuana announced the legal action at the Clark County Commission meeting. The organization says the county commissioners are violating state law just by talking about that ballot question, let alone voting on it.
Opponents Take Aim At Marijuana Amendment
20 Sep 2006 (CBS4) DENVER Local physicians joined Colorado's Lt. Governor Jane Norton and national drug policy experts on Wednesday to urge voters to defeat Amendment 44.The amendment would make it legal for adults to possess small amounts of marijuana.
The group behind the statewide initiative pushed through a similar proposal in Denver.

20 Sep 2006 (CBS4) DENVER Supporters of the marijuana initiative took to the State Capitol to get more supporters and argue that pot is far less harmful than alcohol.After the success of the Denver pot initiative, which surprised a lot of people, they figured they have a decent chance of getting this passed statewide. Amendment 44 would make it legal for people of drinking age to possess an ounce or less of pot.
Poll: Small Majority Of Voters Against Pot Law
Supporters, Opponents Of Amendment 44 Hold Events 20 Sep 2006 (CBS4) DENVER The latest CBS4 News/Rocky Mountain News poll showed a small majority of registered voters in Colorado were against legalizing small amounts of marijuana.Fifty-three percent of those questioned said they're against Amendment 44 which would make one ounce or less of pot legal to possess. Forty-two percent said they support the measure.
Police Find 102 Marijuana Plants, 30 Lbs. of Pot in a Tomah Basement
SWAT Team Raids Small Pot Farm 14 Sep 2006 A SWAT team raided a Tomah drug house last night and found more than a hundred marijuana plants in the basement.Monroe County Sheriffs, and the Sparta and Tomah police departments broke into a home on Eureka Road just after 8 p.m. last night. They found 30 pounds of marijuana, a .22-caliber pistol, drug paraphernalia, and 102 marijuana plants.
