After their arrest in 1999 for 265 plants, the Kubbys faced 19 counts and 40 years of prison. Although the government seized all their assets and forced them into bankruptcy, their libertarian friends contributed over $350,000 to their defense and ultimate acquittal. This video update is a tribute to the Libertarians and was shown this May at the Libertarian Party National Convention, in Atlanta Georgia.

Pot TV's own Steve Kubby appeared on CTV's Canada A.M. Show, in a nationally televised interview about American Cannabis Refugees. Several hours after appearing on the show, a top B.C. cancer clinic issued Kubby a letter that approved his medical use of cannabis. On August 6th, Kubby plans to present the approval letter to the B.C. Supreme Court to obtain an exemption.
